Jim Engineer


Jim Engineer is a 12-year award-winning public relations executive. Jim founded e-Rainmaker in 1999 and is responsible for all new business development, client relations and account management. He specifically executes public relations programs with a focus on strategic media relations, crisis communications and corporate reputation management services. 

Jim has been directly responsible for generating high-profile coverage for e-Rainmaker clientele, which include companies in the Security Information Management, Intrusion Prevention, Endpoint Security, Managed Services and Voice Recognition technology categories.

Prior to e-Rainmaker , Jim served as a senior account executive in the Reputation Management practice of Edelman Public Relations Worldwide in Chicago . Edelman is the world's largest independent public relations agency. At Edelman, Jim was responsible for implementing media relations initiatives to promote the environmental value of recycled tire rubber on behalf of a nationwide campaign for Sears Roebuck & Co.'s NTB National Tire & Battery division. His work at Edelman also included increasing awareness for the safe use of anti-lock brakes for the ABS Education Alliance, a coalition of leading anti-lock brake manufacturers.

Before Edelman, Jim served three years as Regional Spokesman and Communications Specialist at Mellon Financial , one of the world's leading providers of financial services for corporations, institutions and affluent individuals around the globe. At Mellon, he held internal and external communications responsibilities for more than 3,600 associates and 150 bank branches in the Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey regions. He also handled executive speechwriting, crisis communications and media relations. His media placements included all major Philadelphia newspaper, radio and television media , as well as a two-minute CNBC feature on Mellon's Video Banker product.

A native of the Greater Chicago area, Engineer holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Northern Illinois University and has earned an award for innovative public relations programming from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)/Philadelphia Chapter. He is a national PRSA member, a member of the PRSA Technology Practice Group and its Suburban Chicago chapter, the Computer Security Institute (CSI), and the Chicago Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association. Scott Buhrmaster


Scott Buhrmaster is an integrated marketing and communications specialist with expertise in e-commerce start-ups. Buhrmaster has consistently been successful in integrating aggressive media relations campaigns into his marketing plans. A firm believer in the power of press, Buhrmaster combines his first-hand business and technology experience with his media savvy and applies the result to a relentless -- and ultimately fruitful -- pursuit of media exposure.

He most recently served as Director of Marketing at All Communications, Inc., where he was recruited to implement all elements of marketing, public relations and advertising sales/purchasing for that company's 28-site Internet network start-up. As a member of the senior management team, he initiated and negotiated strategic alliances with potential marketing partners including Keebler, The Right Start Corp., Peg Perego, Omaha Steaks, Paw Island. Buhrmaster also negotiated corporate purchases of integrated marketing campaigns within the network by companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Schering-Plough, and Unipath Diagnostics Co.

On the media relations front, Buhrmaster initiated media coverage of the network in major media outlets including Yahoo Internet Life, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, New York Post, Boston Globe, Arizona Republic, Pioneer Press Newspapers, North Shore Magazine, WGN-TV, CLTV News, WBBM Radio, WTMX Radio, ABC.com.

Buhrmaster coordinated a promotional campaign for launch of the network's redesign; performed competitive analysis research for the e-commerce division and secured distribution relationships with key manufacturers. He has also led negotiations to secure prominent celebrities as corporate spokespeople and promotional campaign representatives.

Prior to joining All Communications, Buhrmaster served as Director of Marketing and Corporate Development and Director of Media Relations at Calibre Press, Inc., a division of Primedia Corporation. During his tenure, Buhrmaster founded an award-winning e-based marketing division that grew from 25 participating customers to over 300,000 in 26 countries in less than 4 years.

His responsibilities as the Director of Marketing and Corporate Development included major project management for the market-leading publishing company; identifying new market opportunities and revenue growth strategies; directing all aspects of launches into new markets; creating and implementing marketing plans for new product/service releases, and negotiating strategic corporate alliances with companies such as Honeywell/Allied Signal, Smith & Wesson, McGraw-Hill. As the Director of Media Relations, he fielded interviews with major national and local print, television and radio outlets and initiated national media coverage during special promotional campaigns including over 250 radio interviews and appearances on network television talk shows.
